Welcome to our first edition of Workout of the Week! With the start of the new year, many people are trying to live healthier lifestyles, watch what they eat and exercise more as part of their New Year’s resolutions. For our first workout we’re going to analyze fitness data obtained from wearable personal fitness devices. These devices have become quite popular and many people have started using them to capture their personal fitness data so we want to show you how to utilize that data you’re collecting. So let’s get your data in SHAPE!
Data: Bruno’s Fitness Data (Jawbone Up, Withings Scale, and Nike+ Band)
Analysis: Our own CMO, Bruno Aziza, has been an early adopter of these devices to help him keep track of his fitness goals. The data for this analysis came directly from Bruno’s wearable devices. Bruno runs every day and logs his pace, distance and time. He also weighs himself regularly with a connected scale that also logs his fat, muscle, and day. Finally, Bruno is capturing his activity during the day, as well as his sleep at night. In this analysis, we are going to show you how to take each of these datasets and combine them into one table to conduct some exploratory analysis. (8 MINS)
Video: Check out the video to see how we performed the analysis and what the data told us!
